This Thursday, Oct. 29, the city of New Braunfels will hold its annual Downtown Spooktacular, a Halloween event that offers a safe trick-or-treating environment for local kids.

The event will be held at the main plaza from 5 to 7 p.m. and will feature treat stops from several downtown businesses, the New Braunfels police and fire departments, the solid waste and recycling division and other city departments and community partners, according to the city's website.

There will also be non-candy, allergen-safe options in teal pumpkin buckets.
