BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The Texas Department of Transportation has extended the public comment deadline for the third round of its Interstate 14 Central Texas Corridor Study to Oct. 12, citing high public turnout and interest.

The original deadline was Thursday, Sept. 10.

According to TxDOT's Bryan District, more than 1,300 people attended six open-house meetings held across Hearne, Cameron, Bryan, Navasota, Huntsville, and Madisonville between Aug. 11 and Aug. 26. The department noted that attendance marked a more than 200% increase compared to the second round of meetings in summer 2024, with more than 1,000 comments submitted so far.
