TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler Pounds Regional Airport is planning to build a new air traffic control tower to replace its current tower, which is 78 years old.

Airport Director Steve Thompson said the current tower is among the oldest in the country.

Thompson said the tower has Americans with Disabilities Act compliance issues and lacks modern technology.
