In celebration of its 90th anniversary, the Fredericksburg Music Club, founded in 1937, will present a special performance here by the 17th annual Van Cliburn International Piano Competition gold medalist to open its 2026-2027 season at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, in the sanctuary of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 North Llano.

Featured will be 29-year-old Aristo Sham of Hong Kong, who won both The Cliburn's Gold Medal (along with the competition's Audience Award as determined by more than 9,000 public votes) at the conclusion of the contest's most recent edition in 2025, which the Van Cliburn Foundation has hosted in Fort Worth every four years since 1962.

Seating for the program will begin at 2:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.
