NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A Texas Department of Public Safety error has left East Texas county elections offices working to register hundreds to thousands of voters before early voting begins Oct. 19.

Nacogdoches County backlogNacogdoches County Elections Administrator Vicki Wood said her office has a backlog of 900 cases to process before early voting begins.

The office has three employees, and staff will need to work weekends and unbudgeted overtime to complete the work, Wood said.
