VALLEY VIEW, Texas (KXII) - A suspect wanted in connection with a murder investigation out of Plano was confirmed dead Monday after a pursuit, a standoff and a vehicle fire in Valley View, according to the Valley View Police Department.

The Valley View Police Department said it responded just after 10 a.m. to assist with a pursuit traveling northbound on Interstate 35 from Denton County.

According to preliminary information, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper attempted to stop the suspect, at which time the suspect allegedly opened fire on DPS troopers and fled, police said.
