A 48-year-old man was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle driven by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer on Saturday morning in Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The man was hit around 7:20 a.m. while ICE officers were pursuing a suspect who had an active warrant, according to the sheriff's office, which said ICE was attempting to box in the suspect's vehicle near a building.

The man hit was a passenger in the suspect's vehicle and is believed to have a broken leg, the sheriff's office said.
