After years of planning, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo President and CEO Chris Boleman could feel the excitement as ceremonial shovels hit the dirt.

"Well, we're glad this day is here. And the vibe is just awesome," Boleman said.

"I hope you feel it." The groundbreaking marked the beginning of "The Farm," a $300 million agricultural complex expected to transform approximately 350 acres of Rodeo-owned property along Highway 288 near Reed Road.
