SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Gas prices in Texas are closing in on $4 per gallon and are on track to break a record, according to AAA."I'm a thrifty shopper and I'm all about saving a dime. In this day and age, everybody needs to be that way and change your way of shopping," said Misty Odom, a driver.
Prices trending toward a recordThe Texas statewide average is closing in on $4 a gallon for regular unleaded, and diesel is closing in on $6 a gallon, said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson.
In Sherman-Denison, the average is $3. 89 a gallon, up $1. 17 from a year ago."When you look back over the last, you know, this century, over the last 26 years, this September right now is on track to be the most expensive September," Armbruster said.
