A Hallettsville man died near the last public exit on the Comal River after suffering a medical emergency over the weekend, according to the New Braunfels Police Department.

On Friday, Sept. 18, at approximately 6:05 p.m., the New Braunfels Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a 63-year-old man in need of medical attention in the 100 block of East Lincoln St., near the last public exit.

First responders found that the man had been pulled from the water following the apparent medical event.
