LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Museum at Texas Tech wanted to go in a different direction when it came to celebrating 250 years of America.
Tech called on residents to donate materials that showcase that rich history, and the community went above and beyond to make sure that became a reality."Everybody has unique pieces of history and material culture in their own homes, and this one we just themed it around American independence," curator of history Cameron Saffell said.
"They are all important things to you, and when you come through this exhibit, you'll see what was important things to other people."Inside the America 250 exhibit, you'll notice many things made in 1976 to celebrate America's bicentennial, which includes this spirit of '76 Agri-King tractor, quilts, plates and this crotched potholder.
