KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Soldiers from Fort Hood took over practice for the Chaparral High School Bobcat football team Wednesday as part of the U.S. Army Experience Basic Training Challenge, a team-building program for local high schools.

The session put first-string players through high-intensity, military-style drills - including wearing body armor - while reinforcing the Army's core values.

Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Betts III, with III Corps Public Affairs at Fort Hood, said the drills were designed to complement what coaches had already been building throughout the offseason."We're going to take them through a series of high-intensity military training style drills," Betts said.
