WHERE KENDALL COUNTY EATS: A CLOSER LOOK EDITOR'S NOTE: The Boerne Star meets twice monthly with Kendall County Health Inspector Steven Kotsatos and his staff, to bring us our newest feature, "Where Kendall County Eats: A Closer Look." Check-ins conducted by the Kendall County health inspector found most Boerne restaurants operating at a high level of compliance this week, though a few were directed to take corrective action.

Inspection scores ranged from 91 to 100, with inspectors noting improper cooling temperatures, rodent droppings and food-handling procedures.

El Rio Restaurant, 1361 S. Main St., No. 601 Hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, closed Monday.
