ELM MOTT, Texas (KWTX) - A man faces a felony strangulation charge after McLennan County sheriff's deputies responded to the brutal assault of a woman Tuesday night in Elm Mott.

Shaylan Patel was arrested and charged with third-degree felony assault by strangulation/impeding breath and indecent assault, according to arrest warrant affidavits obtained by KWTX.
