(KGNS) - The Laredo Animal Protective Society is looking for a forever home for Scarlet, a 1-year-old basset hound mix.

Sofi Juarez, adoption coordinator with LAPS, said Scarlet is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, fully vaccinated, and up to date on flea and tick prevention."She loves to meet new people. She gets very excited when someone opens the door or someone walks in. She always wants to greet people, and she hates being alone," Juarez said, adding that Scarlet is a family-friendly dog who gets along well with children.

LAPS also runs a foster program for community members who want to support the shelter but are not ready to adopt.
