For the last three years, public health experts have seen COVID-19 cases increase in late summer.

This year, the uptick in cases came in late August, around the start of the school year.

But the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District's respiratory illness dashboard, which shows trends in influenza, RSV and COVID-19, does not reflect those increases because it has not been updated in four months.
