BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Following days of intense community interest, City of Bryan officials are clarifying details of a highly anticipated mixed-use development on Boonville Road, saying that while construction is progressing, H-E-B has not announced plans or a timeline to build.

The city's response comes after KBTX's previous coverage that confirmed H-E-B has purchased land on the property but has no plans at this time to build a store there.

While some have closely tied H-E-B's name to the development, Bryan Mayor Pro Tem James Edge said in an interview with KBTX on Monday that the city does not actually have a direct agreement with the grocery chain.
