HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) announced the purchase of 650 acres of property on Lake Palestine for a new Texas state park.

According to a release from the foundation, the property is one of the largest contiguous tracts of land with frontage on the lake, and was acquired by the foundation Oct. 1.

TPWF said the investment will cost more than $10 million."Opportunities to protect a property like this don't come along very often, and when they do, timing is critical," said Anne Brown, TPWF executive director.
