HOUSTON, Texas - Houston Christian University and Houston Independent School District signed a memorandum of understanding Tuesday, formalizing a partnership that gives HISD students a guaranteed path to college admission and merit-based scholarships.

The signing took place at Houston Christian University and marks the expansion of HCU's Guaranteed Admission Program - known as GAP - to the largest school district in Texas.

Under the partnership, HISD students who meet eligibility requirements are guaranteed admission to HCU along with merit scholarship dollars to help make college more affordable.
