A concrete truck caught fire during Friday afternoon's rush hour, causing major traffic delays in northwest Houston.

The flames were quickly extinguished, but cleanup and debris removal on northbound SH-249 at Cypresswood Road are expected to take hours.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route until the scene has been cleared.
