SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - A man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Wednesday for a scheme that defrauded Grayson County residents out of $360,000, according to Grayson County District Attorney John Kermit Hill.

Victor Paul Smith, 43, from Whitewright was arrested last fall for scamming residents out of money and goods.

Hill said Smith used paperwork to convince victims he was about to receive a large sum of money-claiming he was owed $10 million from a trust.
