The Boerne Little League team came up short in its opener Thursday at the Southwest Region tourney in Waco.

Boerne, the Texas West champions, fell to Texas East, 10-3, despite outhitting their opponents 7-5.

They play Saturday and need to win to stay alive in the double-elimination event.
