TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler City Council unanimously approved a zone change for four lots near downtown from light industrial to a downtown business, arts and culture district, overturning a 7-0 denial by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The half-acre site, owned by Ferguson Center LLC, sits near East Ferguson Street and North Center Avenue, is home to several houses.
The corporation proposed to rezone the lots for a mixed-use development that includes housing, shops, food trucks and community event space."We've been working on downtown redevelopment for decades now," said Kyle Kingma, the city's planning director.
