LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Lufkin Police Department say a family escaped without injury when part of a tree fell on their vehicle.

A Lufkin family was not injured when a large tree limb fell onto their car on Cain Street during the brief windstorm that blew through parts of Lufkin around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The family was able to get their child out of the back seat before the Lufkin Fire Department arrived.
