LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The Angelina County Commissioners Court addressed the rising rates residents are seeing at the landfill.

The latest rate increase, the last in a series of four, was based on a rate study the county conducted on its landfill rate.

The county is planning a "huge expansion" of the landfill, and some of the high costs associated with the expansion are covered by this series of rate increases."It takes care of theoretically, our inflation cost, our equipment cost and our improvement costs in order to pay a debt," Angelina County Judge Keith Wright said.
