A 17-year-old Westbury High School senior was shot and killed Friday morning just steps from campus, prompting a massive law enforcement response and hours of heightened security for thousands of southwest Houston students and families.

Officers were called to the scene just before 10 a.m. HPD Chief Noe Diaz said detectives are interviewing two witnesses and reviewing surveillance video from apartment cameras along Chimney Rock Road.
