LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Seventh Court of Appeals, typically based in Amarillo, heard arguments Tuesday morning at the Texas Tech University School of Law.

Chief Justice Judy Parker, Justice Lawrence Doss and Justice Laura Pratt - all Texas Tech law graduates - heard three cases, two from Lubbock.

One is the state's appeal in the case against Allan Montemayor, accused of beating 21-year-old Cypress Ramos to death in February 2022 and setting her body on fire inside a storage unit on North Frankford Avenue.
