Thomas Goodman returns to Brownwood with a new Texas Tales novel, Through Many Dangers, and will be signing copies from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at Intermission Bookshop.

Goodman previously came to Brownwood for the release of his first novel, The Last Man, and held a signing at the Brown County Museum of History.

Through Many Dangers is another standalone historical novel inspired by a remarkable true Texas story that takes readers to 1905 East Texas, where a young Methodist preacher confronts bootlegging, corruption, and violence and becomes known as the "pistol-packing preacher." The Last Man, based on the 1927 Santa Claus Bank Robbery, won the 2024 Spur Award and a 2024 Will Rogers Medallion.
