(KGNS) - The Laredo Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a $2 million retirement incentive program Thursday, Sept. 17, offering bonus pay for veteran employees.

The program is open to full-time staff members with at least 20 cumulative years of service who have worked in the district for their last five consecutive years.

Payouts follow a sliding scale from 10% to 20% of an employee's base salary.
