A rodent activity has become an issue at Roosevelt High School's science building, and it is believed to be tied to classroom pets, the school's district confirmed in an email on Tuesday.

Staff members at the North East Independent School District campus told KSAT about the rodents and their concerns about a potential lingering issue earlier this month.

The rodents appear to be attracted to the science building because several pets - including fish, snakes and gerbils - are housed inside classrooms, NEISD said.
