WACO, Texas (KWTX) - An inmate at the Mart State Juvenile Correctional Facility remains jailed after his arrest Monday on charges he assaulted an officer because he reportedly was mad he hadn't received his medication.

Demond Ballard, 17, was transferred from the Texas Juvenile Justice Department facility in Mart to the McLennan County Jail after admitting to an investigator he assaulted the correctional officer on Sept. 19.

Ballard's bond was set at $50,000 bond and he also remains jailed under a TJJD hold, county records show.
