(KXII) - Diesel powers nearly every farm field operation in the nation, including planting, fertilizing and harvesting.
Diesel prices are currently at an all-time high, putting extra strain on farmers.
Howe Farmer Scott Renfro said he cannot opt out of using fuel because it is essential to keeping his equipment running and fieldwork on schedule."Diesel is an everyday use of what we do," Renfro said."When it took the hike that they're at now, it really put pressure on us to decide what to do as far as how much we're going to plant and what we're going to plant because of the expense that's going to be figured in there," Renfro said.
