SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Wildfires and grass fires have burned through parts of Texoma over the last several weeks.

Even though the flames are out, the danger is not over for animals that live in the affected areas.

Bryon Clark, of Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, said most animals survive wildfires."Most of the time, animals do pretty well. Estimated mortalities of a typical wildfire is around 3 to 4% of animals. So most of them have been around with fires for literally, you know, scores of years. So they're pretty adapted to it," Clark said.
