The low humidity and dry air have provided a minor treat for east Texas despite the fact it is still hot out there.

For early August, we will take any small victories we can get since the drier air has led to virtually no heat index and slightly cooler overnight lows.

A ridge of high pressure will have an influence on our weather for much of this week as it stays centered over the Intermountain West.
