A United Airlines regional jet headed for El Paso, made an emergency return to Houston Sunday after the first officer's windshield shattered shortly after takeoff, according to CNN.

The plane had 72 people on board when glass started falling into the cockpit.

The pilots told air traffic control they were stopping their climb, slowing down and turning back to George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
