Less than six months after losing her husband, a New Braunfels woman celebrating the Fourth of July nearly lost her life in a near-drowning incident.

On July 4, Michelle Bernaix went limp in the water at a pool party.

Quick acting partygoers and responding first responders pulled her from the water and revived her, allowing the family more time with their loved one, Bernaix's daughter Alyssa Ross said.
