"We need them to help us so we can help them:" Axtell-Leroy volunteer fire department down three trucks during fire season

AXTELL, Texas (KWTX) - A Central Texas volunteer fire department is down three critical emergency vehicles, leaving firefighters severely shorthanded during the peak of grass fire season.

The Leroy-Axtell Volunteer Fire Department recently announced that three of its primary response trucks are currently out of service, actively hindering their ability to fight large-scale fires."We're just kinda in a bad spot at the moment," said Dylan Cates, the fire chief.
