GAINESVILLE, Texas (KXII) - The Gainesville Police Department is warning residents about calls impersonating the department's police chief.

GAINESVILLE, Texas (KXII) - The Gainesville Police Department is warning residents about calls impersonating the department's police chief.

The department said that they've gotten reports of callers pretending to be Chief of Police Kevin Phillips.

Police urge residents to hang up on anyone claiming they are the police chief or any other officer, and residents should call the department directly at (940) 668-7777.
