COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - College Station ISD's board of trustees has been divided since July, with tensions boiling over in public meetings and new rules now in place to keep disagreements in check.
The division became impossible to ignore at the board's Aug. 25 meeting, when one trustee used an unscripted announcement to accuse fellow board members of conducting "off-the-books real estate inquiries" and airing internal disagreements on social media.
Three weeks later, Board President Kim Ege addressed the fallout directly, announcing clearer guidelines for how trustees can raise concerns going forward."If a trustee speaks on items other than the one specifically listed, I will call a point of order and ask them to stop," Ege said at the Sept. 15 meeting.
