A family member experienced a medical emergency and died while in a car line to pick up a student at a South Carolina high school.

Dorman High School Principal Joshua Dawkins sent a message to families on Thursday saying the death happened while the family member was waiting for dismissal.

Dawkins said that all home athletic events were canceled for that night.
