ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - State and local leaders gathered at Odessa College today to present a multi-million-dollar initiative aimed at strengthening the region's healthcare workforce across West Texas and other rural communities.

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has awarded a $2. 4 million Skills Development Fund grant to Workforce Solutions Permian Basin.

The funding will support customized training programs for nearly 1,500 new and current healthcare professionals.
