D'HANIS - Despite keeping their turnovers and penalties to a minimum, the Center Point Pirates did not have a solution against the Cowboys' passing game Saturday when D'Hanis defeated the Pirates 56-21 in the District 14-2A Division II football opener for both teams.

The Pirates' (2-2, 0-1) defense held D'Hanis to 128 rushing yards but gave up 331 through the air.

Center Point managed 105 yards both on the ground and passing.
