PERMIAN BASIN, Texas (KOSA) - Six people pled guilty last month, and eight others still face charges in what is a massive conspiracy to steal crude oil from Permian Basin producers.

According to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas six defendants pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to steal crude oil.

Documents say the defendants admitted to stealing tens of thousands of barrels of crude oil from producers in eastern New Mexico and selling it at a significantly lower price.
