(KGNS) - A statewide technology glitch at the Texas Department of Public Safety has delayed voter registration applications, forcing Webb County election officials to work through hundreds of backlogged records just weeks ahead of the November election.

Multiple Texas counties have received a wave of delayed records submitted through DPS over the past 48 hours.

Webb County Elections Administrator Jose Luis Castillo confirmed Friday, Sept. 25, that his office unexpectedly received about 500 delayed applications, some dating back to last October.
