COLLINSVILLE, Texas (KXII) - The Center for the Advancement of Donkeys opened Sept. 5 in Collinsville, becoming the first and only donkey hospital in the United States, according to founder and CEO Ron King."We just opened the first and only donkey hospital in the United States in Collinsville, Texas," King said.

King previously worked for InStyle magazine and is a former publisher of Southern Living magazine.

He said he launched Oscar's Place about five years ago after seeing a TikTok video."I had a midlife crisis. I saw a TikTok video about donkeys in trouble. I wrote a business plan and I started rescuing donkeys," King said.
