WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Waco Mayor Jim Holmes covered everything from a $3-billion infrastructure backlog to packed flights at Waco Regional Airport, new parks openings and even his next adrenaline stunt during an appearance on KWTX Midday Extra on Oct. 2.

On infrastructure and taxes, Holmes said the city could use $3 billion in improvements to roads, water, wastewater and drainage, compared to an annual city budget of about $200 million.

As a former treasurer and chief operating officer of a publicly traded company, Holmes said controlling taxes is his top responsibility to taxpayers, favoring smart growth and careful sequencing over over-leveraging the city.
