CHANNELVIEW, Texas - A man accused of shooting a Harris County sheriff's deputy and stealing a patrol vehicle was too combative to face a judge Thursday night, but he'll get his day in court Friday morning.

Chase Layne Patin, 25, is scheduled for a preliminary appearance on Monday morning in the 482nd District Court, according to Harris County court records.

Patin had been expected to appear in probable cause court Thursday night, but the judge said he was being combative and was kept out of the courtroom for safety reasons.
