ZAVALLA, Texas (KLTV) - The Texas Water Development Board voted to award $5. 3 million in total principal forgiveness for the City of Zavalla to overhaul its aging drinking water infrastructure.
The board voted on the measure Thursday when it met in Austin.
According to the TWBD, the rural community of roughly 950 residents relies on a 60-year-old distribution network that suffers an average of 48 pipe breaks annually.
