WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Commuters traveling between Waco and Valley Mills should prepare for slight delays starting this weekend as construction crews prepare to implement a major traffic shift on the State Highway 6 Twin Bridges over Lake Waco.

Starting Sunday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m., the Texas Department of Transportation and its contractor will begin moving all traffic onto the northbound bridge.

By Saturday, Aug. 29, traffic will be shifted into a two-lane, two-way configuration on the northbound bridge, where it will remain through fall 2027.
