Temple calls for voters to approve $15M bond to replace tornado-damaged community center

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Temple voters will decide in November whether the city can borrow up to $15 million to replace the Sammons Community Center, after the City Council voted this week to call a bond election, according to the City of Temple.

The measure, Proposition A, will appear on the November 3 ballot.

The push to replace the facility follows damage discovered after the 2024 tornado that hit Temple, the city said.
